This one’s short. :3 More under the cut.
Stuff about working with KAG, getting promoted in KAG, talking to Jeffrey Combs a few more times, and my buying of a fabulous pink hat.
- Got up, got dressed, got food
I didn’t feel like getting all dolled up in full Andorian costume. So I donned my Dominion tee shirt (with Weyoun on it), Re-Animator necklace, and did my Andorian makeup and out the door I went!
- Spent more money on stuff
And by stuff I mean a fancy-ass pink hat to fabulously wear with my new pink labcoat.
- Went to Jeffrey Combs’ panel
It went as well as Saturday’s did. All of his stories were really cool and he talked a lot about his Poe stage show.
He addressed the reason why he doesn’t use a fake mustache for it too! It’s because wearing a fake nose is one thing, because that’s latex or silicone and attaches easily to skin, but a fake mustache is hair, and after a while is prone to falling off. The plain and simple reason is that he doesn’t want to deal with the stress of worrying about his mustache falling off during a performance.
I asked only one question at this panel, and that was the ever amusing “What is your weirdest fan experience?”. He told the story of a crazy fan who had a small put together magazine about Re-Animator (and horror movies of the time) around the late 1980’s that over time got to be way too weird. Not wanting to be associated with it, he wrote her a letter asking her to tone it down. According to him she wrote back mad as hell, and he never heard from her since then.
It’s safe to say that no matter how fangirly anyone on tumblr is in regards to Jeffrey Combs, none of us are as weird as this person was.
- Told Jeffrey Combs about my Herbert West costume winning 2nd place in the Amateur Costume Contest
He thought that was cool! He did make a note to joke that “Herbert West never comes in second place!”
I really hope someday my Herbert costume will be good enough to win first prize in a costume contest, just so if I see Jeffrey Combs at a convention again I can say that “Herbert West finally came in first!”. :)
- Spent the rest of my money on stuff
Bought a couple little things for my friends, and bought a little pin to go on my bookbag.
- Stopped and talked to Jeffrey Combs
His autograph table wasn’t busy so I figured I’d stop and chat. Pretty much just told him how great was to meet him and thanked him for coming to this convention and for the autographs. I told him that my friend Meg (marusakiahiru) was looking forward to meeting him at OzComicCon. I bid him a final goodbye and skipped gleefully out of the dealers room for the last time.
- Got Promoted in KAG
Little cadet me is now ”IXK Cadet Lt. L’khor-tai”!!!!
- Hung out with the other KAG people and helped pack up
- Went to closing ceremonies
A short but sweet closing to an amazing weekend.
- Said my final goodbyes to all of the friends I made, and started the trip home with a happy but heavy heart.
It was the best weekend ever, and I already miss everyone so much. I can’t wait until I get to see everybody at the next convention. :)
